RHS Flower Show 2018

Image
You know the summer is not far away when Royal Horticultural Society is in town. It was our 3rd time as well so all and all it was supposed to be a great day.  The grey sky soon cleared out and it was like a different day all together.  All the wonderful displays were perfectly on trend. You are aware that everyone is loving mossier plants now and begonias are very much in vogue! Especially spotted ones.  I think they went with less plastic theme too. All the nurseries and schools wheelbarrows were with that theme in mind and a lot of recycled flower arrangements and installations can be seen aroud the grounds.  The day in my home started silly early. Big guy refused to go back to sleep after about 4am. So he had a little nap so we could see things in peace.  Taking a spirited (grumpy and stubborn) child to flower show can be challenging but there was ice cream and lovely chips. We didn’t make it to kids area it was a bit disappointing actually..  But considering it is child friendly e

Wonders of social media

I have been asked recently if I was on any social media. On which I laughted and said “who isn’t?!” ...  My good friend Jess ( here is her blog by the way) tagged my in post of Facebook I thought it might be a picture of a cute kitten. Let’s face it that’s the main reason social media exists. It was a friend of hers looking for some plants and seeds for her garden.  So last week we got some new friends who brought us these beauties  And left with cutting ready to plant of black carrant, some houseplants cuttings and gladioli bulbs.  This lovely exchange made feel very warm and fuzzy inside, our new friends seemed very lovely and Egg took to them, which doesn’t happened very often or straight away.  We also finally went out and got more compost. I’m planning to repurpose old meat crates for veg beds just need a dry day really. Yesterday we also planted this  I truly hope it will survive since Egg watered it so much. Boy loves a good water play and watering stuff!

Day in grey capital

I used to live in London. I didn’t like it. Sure it was always something to do, but it was also super expensive and lonely, hubby was back in Cardiff.  Now I only come for a day visit when I either need a visa for myself like this time or for the boys to go to Russia. So as I said only brief visits.  I always think that Londoners are rude and anoying... however this time.... I hit the dude with my umbrella, caught my headphones on some other fella backpack, we all smiled at each other and all was good.  When I did eventfully get to place I needed to go I as usual asked the security guard how his day was and then something happened. He smiled told me that it all would be ok (well I was applying to Portugal in a massive visa centre) and gave me a small choccie. Then in the waiting room I chatted to the lady from Palestine who was going to Danmark and had whole day alone there. I hope it all went well for her.  So it wasn’t too bad. Even with rain...  after I went for lunch. Again very ni

Preschool homework

Egg is enjoying preschool, well at lea st we think so. He goes here happy, plays and such.  We also occasionally getting a homework... it’s not like actual things, but more like bring photos of your pets or make a family tree.  Family tree is that I want to tell you about.  I am an only child, but I have a step sister and whole bunch of step family. And I know about my cousins I haven’t seen but I know about them and we are probably friends in internet... not all of them of course.  However it is a bit of the different story with my hubby’s family. They know each other well most of them but they don’t really keep in touch. And that is cool too.  But I want Egg to know who his family are... so the big plan is to make a proper family tree one day. But for now I want to tell you about my grand parents and great grand parents...  Here are my mum’s parents. Sadly they passed away when they were relatively young... but I remember them fondly. Oh yes these are in black
